Regelbau 11 MG Bunker & Base for two squads - Wargaming 3D Printed Model

A shelter with "B-alt" resistance class, built as part of the "Limes Bauprogramm 1936-1938" program - near Germersheim. Type; Regelbau 11 (WH 29) in the German nomenclature, referred to as "Doppelgruppenunterstand mit angehängtem Kampfraum" , i.e. a shelter for 2 teams, with an added chamber of war.

Regelbau 11 was like an enlarged version of a Regelbau 10 shelter - with an additional chamber for defence of the entrance and the camp.

Shelters of this type, often built in a deep hinterland far from the first line - often served as shelters for the battalion or regiment command (Bataillons-oder Regimentsgefechtsstand) or even as sanitary shelters (Sanitätsunterstand).

Regelbau 11 facilities were built with a combat chamber on the right or left side of the shelter - which was often below or above the main shelter to prevent flanking manoeuvres. The entrance to the combat chamber was only 1.10m high - moreover, the combat chamber was not connected to the crew chambers - as a result of which it was necessary to leave the shelter outside in order to fill positions during the enemy attack.

The shelter was armed with two machine guns (MG 08 or MG 34). The shelter could hold a total of 25 soldiers. Two infantry teams of 10 soldiers and MG support of 5 soldiers.

The thickness of the walls and ceiling was; 1.5m, internal wall thickness; 2.10m. The wall thickness in the combat room was 1m and took 340 m³ of concrete to build the bunker.
