Regelbau VF7B V2 (Merville Battery) - Ammunition Bunker - STL

The Battle of Merville Gun Battery occurred on 6 June 1944, as part of Operation Tonga, part of the Normandy landings, during the Second World War. Allied intelligence believed the Merville Gun Battery was composed of heavy-calibre guns that could threaten the British landings at Sword Beach, only 8 miles (13 km) away.

The VF7B was a type of ammunition bunker that is seen in many variations in the Atlantik wall. Usually, the bunker has the two main rooms and an entrance, one often containing the charges and one containing the shells. In the case of this one at Merville, there are the two storage rooms and a room opposite an internal corridor for assembly of munitions. The wing trenches are additions for this site and this version of the bunker has a crooked entrance with a tank mounted by its entrance. Merville was designed to be heavily protected from air raids and bombardments.

This STL file is designed for FDM Printers and print with a 0.6mm nozzle at 0.3mm layer height.

Supports are not needed for this model. At larger scales these bunkers may become larger than more common build-plate sizes, you may need to cut them into sections for your machine. Please check the size below.

This model has been split and jointed to fit standard build plates at 15mm scale.

The printed model measures approx.:

379mm x 411mm x 105mm @28mm Scale

249mm x 270mm x 69mm @00 Railway scale

189mm x 205mm x 52mm @15mm scale
