Description
Doctor Who – Freighter – Warriors Gate – 3D Printed Model
In the Doctor Who story “Warriors’ Gate” (1981), the freighter is a battered, privately-owned vessel commanded by Rorvik. It is stranded in a “void” (the zero point between E-Space and N-Space) and is used to transport captured Tharils (leonine creatures).
Key details about the freighter from the story:
Appearance: The vessel is depicted as a “bulk freighter privateer” with a highly detailed, textured model. Its design is noted for a “down-trodden, dirty look,” with the crew wearing orange jumpsuits, reminiscent of sci-fi films like Alien or Dark Star.
Condition: The ship is severely damaged and stranded, with Rorvik growing increasingly desperate to escape the void.
Cargo/Operation: It acts as a slave ship, holding Tharils, whom the crew treats with coldheartedness.
Fate: In a desperate attempt to escape the void, Rorvik uses the ship’s engines to “back-blast” through a time mirror, which results in the destruction of the ship and its entire crew.
Significance: The freighter is powered by “dwarf star alloy”. The interior sets were noted for feeling cramped, with some, like the MZ (a large cannon), being used to try and break through the gateway.
This 3D design fits with other Doctor Who miniatures and display models.
The 3D printed Doctor Who model measures approx.
208mm x 111mm x 77mm @ 1/200 Studio Scale ( medium)
261mm x 138mm x 97mm @ 1/160 Scale (large)

Production and shipping.
All our models are printed to order. Printing is usually completed within a few days, but bulk orders and large models may take longer to print. During busy periods, it can take up to 10 days to dispatch orders, but this uncommon.
Models are printed and shipped in from the UK.
We 3D print our models with a high-quality resin which precisely replicates fine details. The resin is ?ABS-like? which means it is less fragile and has little bit of flex. Once printed, models are then cleaned and have support material removed. A small amount of support material may remail on the model, but this can be removed with a craft knife or clippers. The models are usually printed hollow. |
